I’m Ryan Moffat, a founding designer at Thomson Reuters Special Services. For nine years I’ve designed data-dense products, and for the last three I’ve been one of two designers supporting a 200-person technology organization. I like starting from zero. The AI Report started as user calls and sketches. Design OS started as a question: how does a two-person design team keep quality high across products it can’t personally review? The answer to both was the same. Build the thing, prove it works, then build the system so it runs without you. I work best embedded with engineering, half in Figma, half in the repo. Before TRSS I led the design practice at Neudesic, an IBM company, and spent four and a half years designing financial data products at S&P Global (formerly IHS Markit).
